ariadne is a vast, untraveled land, filled with mystery and myth. so far, only one kingdom has been officially established, only to be filled with scandal not a year after it's creation. in a fit of rage, the queen of viatrix attempted to kill off her family (only succeeding in killing her daughter) before fleeing the scene of the crime, the guards having been unable to respond to the situation fast enough. in her clutches was the prized family portrait of the royal family - or, rather, what was left of it; in her fit of rage, she apparently chopped the portrait in half. not only that, but this was the only portrait of the royal family ever taken, and she had ruined it in one foul swoop. the kingdom was left in shock, and the king himself nearly went crazy. along with the rumors of mythical creatures, the rebellious prince of the kingdom, and the festering dominion of knights gathering to the south, this world doesn't seem to have a bright future.
.. but, above all of that is the uprising organized crime syndicate, known only as viola. their members are unknown, and they have effortlessly infiltrated the kingdom, making the king question his once trusted advisors. in a world filled with anguish, scandal, and assassination, the last thing you want to do is push someone's buttons - after all, most of us carry knives nowadays.
