Name . Verena Lillith Vesela is the name in full, but she’s perfectly content to be called just Rena. Sometimes, she simply uses her initials, V.V. (or otherwise, Vee-Vee), especially if she wants to remain anonymous for whatever reason.
Age . Rena isn’t too sure, but she thinks she’s roughly seventeen-years-old.
Gender . Female.
Standings . A simple peasant.
Occupation . A combination of wandering storyteller, musician, and historian (sort of).
Sexuality . Heterosexual.
Homeland . Viatrix; a small village near Blodeuwedd Forest (the villagers keep changing the name of the place in the hopes of confusing the trolls, but those damn trolls seem to be smarter than most think…or maybe the trolls don’t care about names and more about children-snatching?).

Positivity ,
(( OPTIMISTIC )) There is no doubt about it. Rena is the one who insists the glass is half full, that there is a silver lining in every cloud, and that there can be no darkness without light. She is bubbly and enthusiastic about things that most people consider mundane or ordinary, and she tends to focus on the positives in any person she meets. Her optimism, however, does border on the idealistic at times.
(( HUMBLE )) And genuinely so. Rena came from a humble background and she has the personality to match. She doesn’t believe herself to be any better or worse than anyone else, is quite generous to those who ask her for help, and she treats others like equals. This does, however, mean she doesn’t put much emphasis on hierarchy (she does recognize that leaders and such are needed, but, for example, doesn’t see why nobles are so uptight about lineage and titles) and she’s gotten into trouble for this in the past.
(( HONOURABLE )) Rena’s not a knight or anything, but this aspect of her personality is quite knight-like. She will gladly stick up for someone who won’t or can’t, and isn’t too afraid of the consequences (or rather, she doesn’t think far enough ahead to consider them…) Rena’s not much of a fighter, but she’ll do what she can. After all, doing something is better than nothing! Added to that, she’s a very honest person, frowns on stealing, lying, etc.
(( FREE-SPIRITED )) Pretty much anything goes for Rena. She’s not very strict about most things and takes things and people as they come. She loves spontaneity and doesn’t care much for order, routine, or traditions. If she makes plans but something comes up, well, it’s just another opportunity for adventure, isn’t it?
(( PACIFIST )) Rena doesn’t like violence. In fact, it distresses her quite a bit if she sees fighting, especially if it draws blood, and she cannot stand the idea of capital punishment. She believes that any conflict can be solved through more peaceful means. Rena also dislikes the hunting of animals for sport and recreation.
(( OPEN-MINDED )) Going along with her free-spirited and adventurous personality, Rena is open to all sorts of ideas. It’s part of what makes her a good story-teller, actually – she enjoys listening to what others think or if they have their own stories to tell, and as a result, she often incorporates such things into her own stories to bring to other parts of the country.
Negativity ,
(( NAÏVE )) Rena is open-minded, but sometimes, maybe too open-minded. She’s easily tricked into believing stories if you make them believable enough, even if they are outrageous in nature. As a result, she’s also rather superstitious and clings to these beliefs because she is often…
(( STUBBORN )) She may be open-minded, but once her mind is set on something, Rena doesn’t let go of it without a fight. She’s almost childish in her ability to both be accepting of new ideas and obstinate about what she believes to be truth. Illogical? Why, yes. Yes it is.
(( LAX )) Rena is easy-going but often to the point where most think she’s a lazy, aimless oddball and wanderer. She isn’t exactly the most ambitious, focused, or motivated person around, and is known by her friends and family to be pretty fickle, as well. When Rena puts her mind to something, she can come up with amazing results. It’s just a bit of a shame that she only puts such efforts towards very few things, and would rather slowly enjoy and appreciate life as it comes rather than stress about every little thing.
(( NOSY )) It comes with being a storyteller, really. Rena likes a good story, even if it means asking a lot of (personal) questions and maybe even doing some poking aroundwithout permission. While she’s had a number of successes, this particular trait of hers has landed her into trouble a few times in the past – either someone has told her off or she got held for breaking and entering. Oops!
(( IDEALISTIC )) Rena can be so optimistic that she doesn’t always have her feet firmly planted on the ground. Even as a young child, her parents knew she’d be a dreamer and that she’d have goals that were not always realistic. As a result, Rena can be a bit impulsive and do things without thinking things through properly, because in the back of her head, she thinks ‘Everything will be all right!’
(( CHATTERBOX )) Rena talks a lot. She’ll talk your ear off if you let her. Rena is well aware of this bad habit, but all too often, she finds herself talking without even realizing she’s still going. It becomes a great trait when she’s telling her stories, but otherwise, more than a few people find this annoying.
(( NONCOMMITTAL )) Rena isn’t exactly afraid of commitment. She is, however, rather indecisive and fickle about things. Thus, if she says she’ll do something, it might not actually get done.
Quirks ,
(( HATS )) Rena can always be seen wearing something on her head. It started out as a childhood bet with her personal “rival” – whoever kept their hat on the longest on the windy day it was at the time would win. Rena won and has simply kept up the act in memory of her “victory”.
(( TALL TALES )) Rena loves stories and loves them so much that she’s essentially made it her trade. She wanders from town to town, telling stories and wild tales of adventure and magic. She insists they’re all true and can be pretty convincing (and thus claims to be an aspiring historian), but whether you want to believe her is up to you.
(( MUSIC )) On top of her story-telling abilities, Rena is pretty good with a flute. She’s self-taught, however, so she’s definitely no virtuoso. When not playing her flute, she does enjoy humming, though mostly to herself than for others. Strangely enough, she’s a poor singer.
(( MISMATCHED SOCKS )) Coming from a poor background, Rena’s family often had to make-do with whatever resources they had. If one sock went missing, well, there just wasn’t always enough money to buy a whole new pair! Consequently, Rena has gotten so accustomed to mismatched socks that she finds it strange wearing identical socks.
Aspirations ,
(( TO BEFRIEND A DRAGON )) Rena doesn’t care what the king says. Dragons are real, she’s sure of it! And when she finds one, she’ll befriend it and have many awesome adventures.
(( FIND THE MISSING CHILDREN )) Growing up near Blodeuwedd Forest made Rena fully aware of the dangers of trolls. She wants nothing more than to find the children that have gone missing – a couple of her own friends included – and negotiate a deal with the trolls to either return the children to their villages or at least give them a decent wage for their work. Rena doesn’t know how she’ll pull this off, but perhaps if she rallies enough support…

(( TROLLS )) Well, growing up in the place that she did, can you blame her?
(( BEING CAGED )) Both literally and figuratively, actually. Rena likes her freedom and having her adventures, thank you very much, and the very thought of being stuck in the same place for long periods of times is an extremely distasteful thought to her.
